It's a hat trick!
The Birla Group has the unique distinction of three of its companies bagging the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award.

Quality as a business strategy has started to take roots in our country just a few years back. But groups like Aditya Birla have been effectively using it for their companies both within the country and abroad. The group has already won three awards. The companies, which have won, are : Vikram Cement (1998), Thai Acrylic Fibre (2000) and Indo-Gulf Corporation Ltd. (2002).

Talking on the occasion, Mr Kumarmangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group, said, “ I feel most privileged, indeed delighted, to accept the Ramkrishna Bajaj award on behalf of Indo-Gulf Corporation. I also feel encouraged that certificates of merit have been awarded to our other group companies, namely Thai Carbon Black and Hi-Tech Carbon. It is with a sense of humility and yet great pride that I would like to share with you the fact that

since the inception of this coveted award five years ago, this is the third year in succession that our group company has won this distinction. It was Vikram cement first, followed by Thai Acrylic Fibre and now Indo-Gulf Corporation. As this award is a ringing endorsement of global quality standards, within our group companies, attaining this accolade is an ongoing aspiration.”

As per Mr. Birla, “ My personal learning from the quality journey, encapsulated in a single sentence is that consistency is the mother of change. Our teams have worked consistently and stead-fastly over the years with focused determination to reach a level of quality that they are now internationally benchmarkable. The group has constantly been winning awards. Thai Carbon. Thai Acrylic and Hi-Tech Carbon India have received the Deming Award and several other units in the group have been TPM certified.
