The object of the Trust is to recognize and reward any individual or institution in India for his/her/its outstanding contribution towards alleviation of human suffering or any other socially desirable cause including family planning and rural development.

A Cash Award of Rs. One Lakh is being given annually for outstanding service to humanity. The term ‘institution’ covers universities, research establishments, social welfare institutions, Chambers of Commerce as well as Government departments both at the Centre and the States.

The recipient will be recognized by being presented with the Cash award as well as a plaque testifying accomplishment. The Award may be divided between two or more individuals/institutions, who/which are considered by the Committee of Judges to be equally deserving of recognition in a given year. The Award may be withheld, if it is considered by the Committee of Judges that none of the nominees, merits recognition.
