IMC - Economic Research & Training Foundation

The IMC Economic Research Training Foundation (IMC-ERTF) is the research wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1959 to promote applied Economic Research and skill dissemination through various training programmes.ERTF has been functioning as a dedicated division of research for carrying out a range of sponsored studies to guide public policy, organizing training programmes and panel discussion on contemporary issues of the economy. 

With a view to promote holistic development of Trade, Commerce and Industry, ERTF  has embarked upon a number of unique research oriented activities concentrating on globalization, competitiveness, policy analysis and inclusive growth. The ERTF is constantly playing a proactive role in enlightening the community on burning issues such as fiscal deficit, depreciation of the Indian Rupee, inflation, examination of major infrastructure projects, improving access to education, Scope of Agribusiness, CSR initiative, measures to combat global warming, corporate governance, SME sector  needs and others. ERTF has also been instrumental in addressing the growing concerns of energy crisis and environment matters through promotion of sustainable green initiatives. 

Over the last few years, the ERTF has undertaken a number of studies at the behest of UNCTAD, UNIDO and NABARD. ERTF also provides knowledge papers for conferences and prepares Proceedings Issues as a post-conference follow-up publication. It presents analytical reporting of key news items to all its members from time to time.  Organizing exclusive panel discussion and brainstorming sessions on vibrating issues of the economy has been an integral of ERTF activities.             

The vision of  ERTF is to set a benchmark in the realm of applied economic research and emerge as a strategic ''Think Tank'' or offering key recommendations for the holistic development of trade, business and sustainable economy
