Services and Facilities

The Library is open to members of the Indian Merchants' Chamber as well as those members of the public who hold a valid Identity Card issued by the Chamber.

Members of the Chamber are required to produce their Membership Number, Visiting Card, etc.

Non-members of Indian Merchants' Chamber can avail of this facility by applying and obtaining the Identity Card issued by the library on payment of Rs.600/-per year. This might be revised by Chamber when necessary.

A service charge of Rs.60/- will be payable in advance for availing of the Library facility for a single day for those who are neither Members of the Chamber nor hold the identity Card.

Right to admission to the Library is at the sole discretion of the Management of the Chamber.

READING ROOM: The reading room, with seating facilities for 50 readers, in a comfortable ambience, is open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.

XEROX FACILITIES: As this is a Reference Library, no material can be lent out. The users may avail of the in-house Xerox facility, which is open from 10.00 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.15 p.m.

INFORMATION SEARCH FACILITIES :

1. In order to locate lists of books and journal articles on a given topic     available in the library, the computerized book catalogue and Index of     journal articles can be used.
2. CD search facility: Rs. 30/- for half-an-hour.
3. Internet facility: Rs. 30/- for one hour; 20/- for half-an-hour; Rs. 5/- for one page print-out.

POSTAL AND TELEPHONE ENQUIRES : The library is able to answer short queries e.g. addresses, names of government and corporate officers etc, on the telephone. It also answers queries received by post or fax & E-mail.
