Visa Recommendation Letter |                

For availing the Certificate of Origin (Non Preferential) from Indian Merchants’ Chamber, It is mandatory that, every exporter has to register their Company/Firm with Indian Merchants’ Chamber. Exhibit-3 gives guidelines.

For Registration:

  1. Permanent Registration : Exporters are required to submit Indemnity Bond on Rs.100/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper issued by the Government of India. A Specimen of Indemnity Bond i. e. Exhibit -2 is available with department in-charge, which will be exporter has to type as it is on Rs. 100/- Stamp Paper. After submitting this Indemnity Bond IMC will registered their Company and issues Permanent IMC Code No., which has to use in future for transaction with IMC.
  2. After Registration of company, Exporters has to collect stationery of Certificate of Origin from counter and submit alongwith Invoice and Packing list copy after dully filled.
  • Please note that Stamp Paper need not to be Notorised.
  • Attach one Xerox/Photocopy of the typed Stamp Paper.
  • Stamp paper purchased before six months will not be valid for registration.
For Availing Certificate of Origin :
One copy of Commercial Invoice and Shipment proof i.e. Bill of Lading / Airway Bill / Lorry Receipt etc. should be submitted for Chamber’s record.

Commercial Invoice should be duly filled in with the following details:

  • Invoice No. & Date
  • Exporters Name & Address with Tel. & Fax No.
  • Consignees Name & Address with Tel. & Fax No.
  • Country of Origin of Goods - Goods are of INDIAN ORIGIN should be declared in Invoice.
  • Mode of Shipment - If by Sea then Name of the Vessel & if by Air then By AIR should be mentioned in invoice.
  • Port of Loading and Port of Discharge (Final Destination)
  • Description of Goods, Quantity, Gross & Net Weight, Shipping Marks/ Container No. and Value of the Product etc.

Or can use CUSTOM Invoice Format.

Please mention your IMC Code No., while submitting your documents for attestation.

On the basis of all these documents, IMC issues Certificate of Origin within one hour. On the Other hand IMC sells Printed Stationery of Certificate of Origin, which will be available (after registration only) at our Cash Counter, (Charges of Stationery mentioned below) which exporter have to type one set of COO and submit alongwith above mentioned documents for Certification.

, such important documents attested only to IMC members and not for Registered members.

IMC also issues Visa Recommendation Letter for visiting abroad for Commercial purpose. For getting Visa Recommendation Letter Company should be Member of IMC and one application required on Company’s Letterhead in Original with details of person Name, Designation, Passport No., Purpose of Visit, Name of the Country, and IMC’s letter addressed to Consulate / Embassy etc.
