Event Description :

Countries like India have an annual funding gap of USD 3 trillion, needed urgently, in order to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. This i...s too large to be met through philanthropy and needs tapping into the hundreds of trillions invested in commercial markets, globally. Corporate India contributed USD 1.3 billion towards this SDG funding gap in 2021, through its mandated 2% of profit CSR contribution. However, there is tremendous potential to look beyond CSR funds towards the capabilities, networks, talent and resources that lie in corporate India’s “core” capabilities, ie: its “98%” - to create business solutions to India social and environmental problems.

This session looks at the rise of a new entrepreneurial breed of corporate employee- the “social intrapreneur” , who does exactly this- creates a profitable business solution that benefits both society/ planet and business. These models not only create impact but also become an innovation hub for new skills access to new markets and customer segments and also a powerful signal of attractiveness to increasingly values driven millennial employees- all of which are spillover benefits to the parent company.

Join us in conversation to explore innovative models in circular construction (Godrej), affordable eyecare (Essilor Eye Mitra), affordable drinking water (Tata), rural distribution (HUL) and many more.. The session will be Moderator by Ms. Aarti Wig, Head- Future Thinking, Yunus Social Business Global Initiative.
