Event Description :

Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for more than half of India's workforce. Agriculture and allied activities account for 15-18 percent o...f national GDP.

Maharashtra State leads the country's economic growth. In agriculture, the State's contribution is significant in a host of crops including grains, oilseeds, cotton, sugar, horticulture as well as milk and meat. With growing food processing infrastructure and relatively easy access to global markets, the State is ideally suited to lead the country's next farm revolution.

There is an urgent need to streamline supply chains in order to develop 'win-win' models for cultivators, processors, exporters, importers, service providers and consumers. Accelerated Improvement in the agriculture value chain will deliver economic benefit to all stakeholders.

The conference will have discussion on 3 crops that are important for Maharashtra- Millets, Oilseeds and Cotton.
