Act, 2010 was introduced to regulate the acceptance and utilization of foreign contributions, foreign hospitality by certain individuals, associations and companies. . It has been enacted with the objective of ensuring transparency and preventing any undue influence from external sources especially in case of government/political as well as influential media agencies. The Act was amended over the period, though the preamble of the Regulation continued to be same.
