World Tourism Day is commemorated each year on 27 September. Its purpose is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of... tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. The Day will seek to address global challenges outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to highlight the contribution the tourism industry can make in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has therefore designated World Tourism Day 2024 as a day to focus on “Tourism and Peace”. The 2024 UNWTO theme aims to explore the intersection of tourism and peacebuilding, highlighting how travel, cultural exchange and sustainable tourism practices can contribute to conflict resolution, reconciliation, and the promotion of peace worldwide.

The interaction is on the UNWTO’s theme of World Tourism Day 2024 “Tourism and Peace”.

We have invited Shri Manojkumar Suryawanshi (IAS), Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation as our Chief Guest at the interaction.

Mr. Chandrashekhar Jaiswal, General Manager, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation will address the event as our Special Guest.

Mr. Madhavan Menon, Executive Chairman, Thomas Cook India Ltd. has kindly consented to address the event as our Guest of Honour.
